We cordially invite you to be one of the more than 900 international participants of the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors International Convention (APAME 2015) on August 24-26, 2015 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel. This convention aims to promote collaboration and exchange among editors, authors, researchers, librarians, and publishers of academic medical journals; and, to upgrade the quality of scholarly publications in medicine and the health sciences in the Asia Pacific Region.

In celebration of the 36th Manila International Book Fair, the Medical and Health Librarian's Association of the Philippines (MAHLAP) will be holding a forum entitled "Eye Care: Protecting your eyes at work" on September 16, 2015 (Wednesday), 10:00AM- 11:30 AM, Meeting Room 6, SMX Convention Center,  Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.


The MAHLAP Organizing Committee would like to announce the cancellation of the Fun Run: Takbo Para sa Pagbasa scheduled on November 29, 2014. We apologize for all the inconveniences cause by this cancellation.

 

The Organizing Committee decided to cancel because there are internal and external factors beyond control that have affected the holding of the fun run. We will coordinate with registered and paid participants on the process of how to redeem your registration payment. In case that you have not been contacted, please call and coordinate with Ms. Rita Yusi (MAHLAP Treasurer) at 523.1478.

 

We thank all the registered participants, the sponsors, and those that have pledged their support for the fun run.  We hope that despite what have happened, we can still count on your support to the forthcoming activities of MAHLAP.

The Medical and Health Librarians Association of the Philippines (MAHLAP) will hold its 27th National Congress and Seminar-Workshop on the theme: "Making Ideas Happen: Understanding Accreditation Standards and Sustaining Excellence" on March 25-27, 2015 in Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.  The forum will discuss a wealth of topics such as "New Evaluation Tools of PACUCOA, PAASCU and ISO" "How to Prepare an Action Plan;" "How to Present and Critic Output;" "Impact of Out-come Based Education in the library collection" and many more.
 

The whole month of November, by virtue of Proclamation No. 837 s.1991, is declared as Library and Information (LIS) Month in order to focus public awareness to the invaluable service that libraries and information centers render such as providing data and materials for the long knowledge and learning for research and for leisure.
