Call for Abstract Submission

The Medical and Health Librarians Association of the Philippines (MAHLAP) will be holding its 25th Anniversary on February 26 to March 1, 2013. The theme for this event is:

Reflect, Reconnect, Renew”

Reflect on the success and struggles through the years,

Reconnect with colleagues and share experiences, and

Renew our passion and commitment to the profession.

On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors of the MAHLAP, I would like to thank all of you who joined us in our 24th Congress and Seminar-Workshop.

Our primary goal was to expose an array of perspectives about the role of the library in the digital age and the potential for libraries and librarians to meet new needs, and how these needs will influence the way library services are being performed as well as the design of its physical space. I believe that our resource speakers namely, Mrs. Josephine T. Fernandez, Mr. Fernan R. Dizon, Ms. Pia Charmaine F. Cornago and Ms. Ma. Pri-Ann M. Tinipunan did an outstanding job of sharing their expertise and knowledge with all of us.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Hon. Jed Patrick Mabilog who gave the welcome remarks, Dr. Joselito Villaruz, our Keynote speaker and to all our resource speakers. I also wish to sincerely acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our local organizing committee headed by Mrs. Helen Canizares.

I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of our sponsors: DOH - Information Management Service, PCHRD and Philmont Academic Solutions, Inc.; and to all our partners: CE Logic, Metasystem, Ideacademy, Inc., Elsevier, LibTech, Globe Publication Pvt. Ltd. and Top Books, Inc.

Last but not the least, I would like to thank all our members for their continued support to all our activities especially to this Congress. The same goes to all the other participants. You were a great group and your enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make our time together both productive and fun. We hope that you found the seminar-workshop informative and worthwhile.
