The Medical and Health Librarians Association of the Philippines or MAHLAP in cooperation with the Department of Health – Information Management Service, will conduct an orientation on “Health Knowledge Products Orientation” to be held on May 2, 2013, :00AM -5:00PM at the Francisco T. Duque Hall, Department of Health, Manila.

The objectives of this activity are:

  • To identify accessible local and foreign health knowledge products
  • To maximize use of open access health knowledge products and information resources
  • To provide venue for medical librarians to discuss challenges and recommendations in accessing electronic information

We have invited our country’s experts in medical literature searching to share their knowledge and experiences about health knowledge products.

We are pleased to invite you to join this very informative activity. As an active member of MAHLAP, your registration fee is waived. There are only 30 slots so please confirm your attendance early. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of the officers.

It is with sadness to convey the news that Mrs. Filomena "Fely" Juanillo, current MAHLAP Board Member and former President (2004) passed away this morning, 18 February 2013 at the age of 60.
Her body lies in state at the Laguna Memorial Chapels near Bahay ni Rizal and beside Liceo de Calamba School in Calamba, Laguna. Tentative date of cremation is on Thursday, February 21, 2013. 
We offer our prayers for the deceased and extend our sincere sympathies to the family of Fely.

For those who haven't deposited their registration payment, you may pay and register on site; just be a little early.

MAHLAP, in cooperation with the Department of Health and Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center and in coordination with local officials of Barangay Balisong in the historic town of Taal, Batangas, will conduct a medical mission on December 22, 2012.

Approximately 80-100 patients are expected to benefit from this project.
